Digital technologies in medical education: innovations in learning with active methodologies

Abstract

The new digital resources used in pedagogical processes involving active methodologies are essential for fostering greater interaction for the acquisition of knowledge and new skills. Objective: To discuss the possibilities of active methodologies in medical education mediated by digital technology. Method: This is an exploratory bibliographic study conducted in the BVS database using the following descriptors: "remote teaching in medical education." All articles were selected, and an interpretative synthesis of the collected data was prepared. Results: We defined the following thematic categories: active methodologies; learning and training in diagnosis and clinical intervention; teacher training for the use of new technologies; and the development of new teaching and telemedicine practices. Conclusion: Digital education with new technological resources has brought significant contributions to the medical educational field, presenting itself as a transition in teaching and learning for the present and future of medical education.
