Case Study The Ethics Behind the Door

Abstract

The Case Study is one of the methodological teaching strategies that usually arouse greater interest and participation of students. Especially when there are difficult concepts that need to be developed and explained, which occurs frequently in the discipline of Law and Ethics in Journalism. The intention of the Case Study that follows, adapted from a true situation, is to expose and discuss from real challenges of everyday practice, ethical dilemmas on which journalists will come across in professional life. In narrative form and divided into two parts, was written as an Interrupted Case, which enables the teacher to discuss with students the concepts and possible solutions, and then, by the teacher's decision, reveal or not the conclusion. At the end of the case – called "The ethics behind the door" –, we included "Teaching Notes", with information about the Case Study as a teaching method.
