Abstract

The Lionfish, a poisonous and carnivorous species, sold to aquarists, found in the Pacific seas, where in this marine habitat, it feeds on native species. This article aims to demonstrate how it was the likely that the migration of the Lionfish to Brazil, and the potential problems that may be caused to the region due to the invasion, and demonstrate how to avoid such problems to the environment. For the same were used literature searches through electronic databases, newsletters, journals and scientific articles. Based on these data a possible there is a conclusion that the Lionfish comes down by sea currents to get to Brazil, despite being found the same species in Arraial do Cabo, it is not known if it came by sea currents or someone introduced it.
