Venâncio, the unwelcomed child: a brief analysis of the act of violence in Freud and Ferenczi

Abstract

The aim of this essay is to briefly discuss the violence suffered and committed against oneself and against others based on the concept of death drive in Freud and the theme of the poorly received child in Ferenczi. For this work, the story of Venâncio and his destructive traumatic experiences of violence experienced since early childhood that will culminate in a cruel act in his adult life will be highlighted, in order to open up reflections. Finally, by way of conclusion, the treatment of the psychoanalytic clinic based on the ethics of care for these patients will be presented.
