This article shows the differences and similarities in the speechs of the directors that know the favela only for observing it from outside, and the directors that live the reality of the slums. Therefore, it was selected as the base of this study a film that exhibits the favela from the sight of view of the beholders – Five Times Favela (1962) – and a film that displays this same favela from the sight of view of the dwellers, the 5x Favela – Now by ourselves (2010).
