Shows in carioca Lapa and the process of memory revalorization

Abstract

Known as one of the most traditional clubs in the cultural circuit of Lapa, in Rio de Janeiro city, and being stage for mainstream artists, Circo Voador and Fundição Progresso and their cultural programming become objects of analysis in this article that aims to study, through musical and memory theories, how some topics are frequently on discussion when the subject is the representation of society. If music can be seen as means of communication, we can therefore see how it allows producers to distribute systems of symbolism through themes such as apocalyptic narratives, regional cultures and notions of return to the origins.
