This article addresses Rethinking Tempels: What Does It Mean to Educate a Bantu? from the Tempelsian educational contributions within the framework of African Philosophy today. It intends to reflect on the educational contributions present in the work Bantu Philosophy. We are experiencing a recurring educational crisis that requires a remedy based on Tempels' contributions. Education is a process in which society prepares its members for future life, ensuring continuity and development. It is dynamic and seeks better strategies to respond to the challenges society faces at present. Tempels, in this educational context, sought to generalize the aspect, probably due to the similarities that this Bantu-speaking people possess, as well as the ways values are transmitted in Bantu cultures. The research is based on Tempels' work Bantu Philosophy, in which he explores the theme of Ontology as a foundation for understanding.
