Communication in nursing leadership: is that the question? A sitematic review

Abstract

The proposed article addresses the delimitation of the role of nursing, comparing the challenges faced by nurses with communication and when assuming management roles, such as the lack of preparation  and specific training, the lack of recognition and appreciation as managers and work overload. Justification: Today we saw that good communication promotes a healthy and collaborative work environment, where it is necessary for a leader to know how to listen actively in order to offer support and encourage the team. And its general objective was to evaluate and analyze the way in which nursing communication works, exercising the leadership role among team professionals. Methodology; A search was carried out in the Virtual Health Library, using the descriptors in the DeCs (Health Sciences Descriptors) such as: “management”; "leadership"; “communication”, with the formula “AND” and the PRISMA-ScR checklist was used, which contains 27 topics for verification. Discussion and Results; The discussions around communication in nursing leadership aimed to address the importance of communication with the ability to identify and deal with personal and other individuals' emotions and feelings, where this approach focuses on the ability of leaders to consider and manage emotions of nursing professionals. Conclusion. It is concluded that this research aimed to evaluate nursing communication in leadership in various sectors, including the lack of academic training in relation to nursing management.
