A good niger and a abortion: reflections on pornography in Naturalism

The scope of the following article is to promote theoric thinkings which structure themselves in two distinct moments: first, we ratify the naturalist nature of Bom-Crioulo (1895) by Adolfo Caminha, and O aborto (1893) by Figueiredo Pimentel, analyzing minutely the transgressor, marginalized, and pathologic profile of the characters from the referred novels. In the second moment, we will identify and investigate he pornographic discourse in this narratives. In our contemporaneity, such works, although they are not considered pornographic literature, they were read and categorized, in a first moment, as authentic literary expressions of pornography. The presented thesis announces that the pornographic discourse, excessively assimilated by the naturalism aesthetic, is the agent of the marginalized by society, which were the great subject of the naturalist literature.
