The main objective of this work is to analyze in the Marxian light some reflections that were carried out in the training process during the discipline State, Social Policy and Human Rights of the Postgraduate Program in Social Work (PPGSSocial) at the Federal University of Tocantins. Strictly speaking, the discipline brings essential discussions to the maturing of debates on categories, concepts and elements for the development of critical social theory. As a methodology, we seek, in the light of the Marxian historical-dialectical method, to understand the multiple expressions of the historical movement of reality in its real object.
