  • REVISTA ÁQUILA LANÇA EDIÇÃO 34 COM DOSSIÊ ESPECIAL: DILEMAS DO DIREITO BRASILEIRO

    A Edição n.º 34 da Revista Áquila já está disponível aqui em nosso site, trazendo como eixo central o dossiê temático Dilemas do Direito Brasileiro: Entre Teorias, Empiria, Doutrinas e Práticas. Este volume consolida um corpo de investigações empíricas e teóricas que verticalizam o debate sobre a administração de conflitos, o funcionamento das instituições jurídicas e as dinâmicas sociais contemporâneas no Brasil.

    Dossiê Temático: Dilemas do Direito Brasileiro

    Organizado pelos professores Dr. Michel Lobo Toledo Lima e Dr. Rafael Mario Iorio Filho, o dossiê propõe uma imersão analítica nas dimensões formais e extraoficiais da justiça brasileira. Reunindo estudos de forte base metodológica e caráter interdisciplinar, a seção apresenta:

    • Segurança Pública e Práticas Policiais: Discussões fundamentais sobre o sistema classificatório dos oficiais "ex-praça" (estudo de Leonardo Ramos e colaboradores), as cartografias espaciais e temporais da apreensão de drogas ilícitas no Rio de Janeiro, e o debate crítico de Daniel Castiajo sobre formação continuada e o "elemento de cor padrão" nas abordagens.

    • Dinâmicas do Sistema Prisional e Judiciário: Análises etnográficas e empíricas sobre as audiências de custódia no eixo Rio-São Paulo, as tensões dogmáticas e reais da remição de pena, e o funcionamento das Varas Criminais face à criminalidade clássica e à violência de gênero. O cárcere feminino e a saúde mental dos policiais penais também ganham centralidade nas pesquisas de Maria Eduarda Oppenheimer e equipe.

    • Inovação, Tecnologia e Direitos: Reflexões na fronteira do Direito com as Ciências Sociais, abordando os desafios metodológicos da antropologia jurídica, os impactos socioambientais da privatização da REMAN na Amazônia (visando à COP 30), e o controle constitucional sobre vieses em sistemas de Inteligência Artificial no Poder Judiciário.

    Pluralidade e Rigor nos Artigos de Temática Livre

    A seção de fluxo contínuo desta edição reafirma a vocação da Revista Áquila para o diálogo interdisciplinar de excelência, contemplando pesquisas de alto impacto social em diversas áreas do saber:

    • Educação e Ações Afirmativas: Estudos sobre políticas de permanência estudantil no ensino superior (UFOPA) e a aplicação da interseccionalidade de gênero como prática pedagógica formativa.

    • Gênero, Linguagem e Literatura: Investigações sobre os impactos da misoginia no discurso feminino, além de análises literárias profundas sobre a subjetivação do feminino na obra O peso do pássaro morto e a representação do trabalho análogo à escravidão em Torto Arado, de Itamar Vieira Junior.

    • Saúde, Ciências Biológicas e Sociedade: Pesquisas clínicas e bibliométricas na área de Odontologia, inovações com metodologias ativas na educação médica, e fatores comportamentais envolvidos no ganho de peso. Destaca-se ainda o debate ético e constitucional acerca do reconhecimento da Cannabis medicinal no tratamento do Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA).

    • Direito e Análise Social: Contribuições empíricas sobre a negação de direitos à mulher prostituta no Tribunal do Júri do Rio de Janeiro, colorismo e passabilidade no ordenamento social, e estudos sobre a estrutura de comunidades da macrofauna bentônica em São Paulo.

    Resenha Científica

    Finalizando o número, a edição traz uma resenha estendida e crítica do livro Emoção Em Terapia: da Ciência à Prática, elaborada por Fábio Luiz Nunes, que oferece valiosas contribuições para o campo da Psicologia Clínica e da saúde mental.

    A publicação deste volume, inteiramente indexado e com os prefixos DOI devidamente validados, cumpre rigorosamente as diretrizes do COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) no que tange à transparência e à avaliação duplo-cega por pares (double-blind peer review).   • Call for Papers: Revista Áquila (Issue 35) – Rolling Submission Sections & Special Issue on Contemporary Dentistry

    Revista Áquila announces the opening of the manuscript submission period for its 35th issue. Aligned with its commitment to consolidating an international forum for theoretical and applied debate, the journal welcomes original contributions in Portuguese, Spanish, and English. The periodical adopts a double-blind peer review policy, ensuring the rigor and impartiality of the editorial process.

    We kindly ask authors to carefully read the submission guidelines, as they have been updated. The journal now requires manuscript submission in two languages and has adopted a rolling submission model. Check the submission rules by clicking here.

    For Issue 35, researchers may submit their work under two modalities:

    1. Thematic Dossier: Contemporary Dentistry: From Prevention to Rehabilitation

    Coordinated by research professors Dr. Antonio Canabarro and Dr. Leila Mourão, both affiliated with the Post-Graduate Program in Dentistry (PPGO/UVA), this dossier aims to gather original scientific productions and literature reviews that address Dentistry from a contemporary perspective. The focus is on evidence-based practices, technological innovation, and the integration of diagnosis, prevention, therapy, and oral rehabilitation.

    The dossier's editorial committee primarily welcomes papers that explore the following tracks:

    • Interfaces between oral health and systemic health;

    • Interdisciplinary approaches across various dental specialties;

    • Advancements in materials, techniques, and digital technologies;

    • Clinical and translational impact of dental interventions.

    Submission Instructions for the Dossier: Unlike the regular journal workflow, manuscripts intended for this dossier must be sent via email to [email protected], with a mandatory carbon copy (CC) to [email protected].

    • Email Subject: Must include "Dossiê de Odontologia".

    2. Revista Áquila Regular Sections (Rolling Submission)

    In parallel with the dossier, Revista Áquila remains open for the submission of original articles and reviews for its regular sections, which encompass the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Biological Sciences. Submissions must be uploaded directly through this website and fit into one of the following thematic areas:

    • Applied Methodological Studies: Research exploring innovative approaches and methodologies across different fields of knowledge.

    • Theoretical-Philosophical Studies: Reflections and analyses on the theoretical and philosophical foundations of science.

    • Society, Environment, and Technology: Works discussing the interaction between technological development, sustainability, and social impact.

    • Innovation, Creativity, and Professional Practices: Studies analyzing innovative strategies and professional practices in different contexts.

    • Communication, Identity, and Society: Research on communication and identity dynamics within various social spheres.

    Editorial Guidelines and Deadlines

    All submissions, both for the Special Dossier and the regular sections of Revista Áquila, must strictly adhere to the journal's formatting standards and editorial criteria. Manuscripts that do not fully comply with the journal's guidelines will face preliminary rejection (desk rejection).

  • ÁQUILA JOURNAL RELEASES ISSUE 33 WITH SPECIAL DOSSIER: "70 YEARS SINCE THE DEATH OF GETÚLIO VARGAS"

    The 33rd edition of  Áquila Journal is now live, featuring the thematic dossier: 70 Years Since the Death of Getúlio Vargas: Memory Construction and Political Legacy. This volume brings together a body of research ranging from deep historical analysis to the most urgent contemporary challenges.

    Thematic Dossier: The Getúlio Vargas Myth

    The highlight of this issue is the dossier "The Getúlio Vargas Myth", organized by Dr. Guilherme José Motta Faria. Through a renewed perspective, the dossier commemorates 70 years of the former president’s memory and legacy, featuring:

    • Memory Construction: Comparative studies between field research from 2004 and 2024 (André Barbosa Fraga and Mayra Coan Lago).

    • Vargas and Society: Analyses of the impact of the Vargas Era on education, tensions with Integralism and Communism, and the construction of Brazil's image as an industrial power.

    • Media and History: Investigations into the representation of Vargas in the Rio de Janeiro press and major newspapers such as O Estado de S. Paulo and Última Hora.

    Diversity and Innovation in Open-Topic Articles

    Beyond the dossier, Issue 33 demonstrates the vitality of national science with a selection of open-topic articles across various fields:

    • Law and Society: Studies on the legislative process, human rights in the care of Venezuelan migrants, and obstetric violence within the transgender population.

    • Education and Technology: Discussions on the use of Artificial Intelligence in public schools and the inclusion of people with disabilities in technical education.

    • Health and Psychoanalysis: Cutting-edge research, including the therapeutic potential of the Cordyceps fungus in cancer treatment, alongside reflections on psychoanalysis in psychiatric institutions.

    • Behavior: Analyses of the challenges faced by mothers returning to work after maternity leave and critical literacy in education.

    Dilemmas of Brazilian Law: Between Theories, Empiricism, Doctrines, and Practices

    Áquila Journal announces a call for papers for the dossier Dilemmas of Brazilian Law: Between Theories, Empiricism, Doctrines, and Practices, to be published in issue 34.

    The dossier, organized by Michel Lobo Toledo Lima (PPGD/UVA) and Rafael Mario Iorio Filho (PPGD/UVA), seeks to gather research with an empirical approach focused on the Brazilian justice system in its procedural, practical, discursive, and unofficial dimensions. The objective is to expand the understanding, through description, of the role of the Judiciary and its forms of operation (formal and informal), highlighting how conflicts, decisions, power relations, and legal representations are produced and managed (judicially and/or through extrajudicial means) in Brazilian society, and in contrastive perspective with other societies.

    Submissions must engage with the interdisciplinary proposal of the dossier, valuing investigations that connect Law to Social Sciences, and will be evaluated by ad hoc reviewers.
