Abstract

This article aims at reflecting on graffiti from the perspective of psychoanalysis concerning contemporary social phenomena. Our belief is that graffiti can help us think about culture. If graffiti consists of fleeting memories of voices not registered in the historical archives, but that insist on echoing in the city, we propose a specific listening modality. In this urban listening, we operate with the concepts of implicated psychoanalysis, pictorial-writing and object a. It’s a kind of listening that marks the connection between subject and culture, result of a singular encounter between the pedestrian and the city.
