Launch of Symbios Journal: Focus on Science, Health, and Interdisciplinarity

2026-05-14

It is with great enthusiasm that Universidade Veiga de Almeida (UVA) announces the creation of Symbios: Interdisciplinary Journal of Health Sciences. Managed by the Publication Center (NUP), the new journal was established with the purpose of serving as a national and international forum for the dissemination of knowledge that integrates diverse areas of human health and advancements in biosciences.

The name Symbios reflects our mission: to promote "living together" among different fields of knowledge. In a global landscape that demands complex responses, the journal will welcome scientific productions from Medicine, Dentistry, Nutrition, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Biomedicine, Psychology, and other related fields, prioritizing methodological rigor and clinical innovation.

What to expect from Symbios:

  • Continuous Flow and Open Access: providing agility and global visibility for authors.

  • Ethical Rigor: alignment with international transparency guidelines (SAGER, COPE, and ICMJE).

  • Interdisciplinarity: a space of convergence between basic scientific investigation and applied clinical practice.

Call for Papers (Coming Soon) We inform you that the First Call for Submissions for the 2026 inaugural volume will be published shortly. Researchers and academics are invited to prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the publication guidelines already available on our portal.

Stay tuned for our updates and be part of this new chapter of science at UVA.
